When Collaborative Governance Arrangements are incorporated into development, they mitigating conflict and foster peace. Such arrangements can complement and enhance the legitimacy of large-scale top-down development and infrastructure projects, drawing on participatory mechanisms, traditional authorities and deliberative spaces and building capacity in communities to leverage knowledge to navigate a collective development path.
